This is my second pair of this shoe. The shoe is very well cushioned in the sole and heel which is very important to me and my old back. The support is excellent and the shoe wears very well. The price is dear, but the shoe is worth the price to me.I am a Mephisto enthusiast. The Ludo is one of my favorites. I am typically a 10 drop to a 9 in most of my Mephisto' s. The quality is unmatched. I am still looking for a Ludo in Black in my size!Mephisto's are the best fitting shoe, for me.Amazon's package was delivered split open, and the box was mangled. The top of the box was placed on the bottom of the box, so the shoes have been tumbling around without a lid keeping them in since the box was sealed. However, the shoes were OK inside and look fine.These shoes will disappoint. They are expensive and squeaky., As with my other Mephistos shoes, I replaced the removable inserts with aftermarket ones, and this corrected the problem. I would certainly purchase them again.Excellent in all aspects and details, it is a pity that Mephisto's size runs a bit larger than standard. That, however, does not imply in any disadvantage to the product itself, which carries the good qualities with which it is recognised everywhere.But with this order (one of two pairs), I got half-a-size big than ordered. Facing with the prospect of having to return it, lazy, I decided to keep it, regardless of the fact that that does not tell us of anything good from the seller - on the contrary...I've owned 4-5 pairs of Mephisto. They're expensive but they last a long time. I mean years. I'll keep buying Mephisto. Highly recommended.I've only worn them three times so far, but for all day comfort they are tops. Hope they get even better as they break-in. I bought them thinking they were suede. They are supple grainy leather. In some pictures they look more royal blue, but mine came as advertised- in navy blue. I recently bought a pair of black Finn Comfort Nantes. Both companies claim to make the most comfortable walking shoes. I like them both and look to see which have more long term potential. Though, the Nantes have hand sewn uppers to lowers.
