These boots are great is you are looking for a slightly distressed worn look. They have great texture too them. Are not a shinny polished finish. I typically wear a 12 or 12.5. I also have a narrow foot to begin with. I purchased a 11.5. They fit my foot with plenty of room. I would say they run a little large in size ,which I have noticed with all Clark’s I have purchased. The sole of the boot is more or a dress shoe with two rubber pieces to keep from slipping. They are a little on the loud side when walking. Unlike a solid runner base. I have not worn them for extended periods of time so I cannot comment on how comfortable they are for extended walking.Overall construction is good. Looks very nice. Decently comfortable in terms of the footbed. The upper around the ankle is soft enough to not need break-in. I really like this boot, but realized it's a touch small after wearing it more than a few hours. There's a particular point that is a touch painful. It's just a sizing issue, I should have returned the 10.5 for an 11. My advice to you is to get the next size up if you are at all over the brannock measurement. Example, if you're just a hair over 10.5 on the brannock machine, get an 11. If you're at 10.5 or just under, then get the 10.5. I am closer to 10.5 than 11, but still over 10.5. Most shoes work fine in either size. The Clarks seem a little tight or "true to size" depending on your interpretation.I can't remember when I bought these, I'm just going through and doing a bunch of reviews now. It's funny, just looked down and I'm wearing them right now. I should buy another pair before I lose this link. These are comfortable, break in well (don't buy a size small to break them in, they're fine the way they are) and are good daily shoes. Back when I got them they were probably around $45 which was great. They look and wear like $75-$80 shoes. I probably missed my chance to get another pair. I'm not paying $80 for shoes. If they're still $45 just get them, these are the ones you've been looking for.Straight out of the box I LOVED these boots. Exactly what I was looking for and a decent price at $125. The leather felt good, the shoe fit great, and the first day wearing them to the office I got tons of compliments (day 1 of my new job).Unfortunately, on day two I wore these shoes in to the office again (mind you I sit at a desk all day and drove to work...so very very little wear on the shoes at this point) and I get up to walk into another room and the heel just fell off. I took a step and it completely detached from the shoe! Of course this happened right in front of my new CEO who made some choice comments. When I picked it up I could immediately tell this was never attached properly. There were just a couple of too short nails. No glue or anything else to keep it attached. Also, I bought size 13 but you can see on the heel where it’s SUPPOSED to be attached to the shoe is written “12”. Not sure if that means someone tried to put a size 12 heel on this or what. Not happy and this doesn’t seem like the quality of product that Clark’s would put out. I purchased from the seller Authentic Sole (they should change their name).tl;dr bought shoes, fit and look great, fell apart after two days sitting in an office. fake? possibly.Clarks are consistently great shoes. I originally bought this style in brown and like them so much that when it came time to select a new pair of black boots I stuck with this brand and style. I ride a motorcycle daily and these are all-around reliable boots - sturdy leather, great sole with traction, as well as stylish and respectable (I live in NYC where the standards are high).Comfortable tend to be a little large. Had to size down from a 12 standard to 11.5 and an 11 would probably be to small.Approximately 4 years ago I purchased a couple pair of Clarks boots from Nordstrom. Those boots were very well made, the boots wore like iron, and lasted 3 years of hard use. Based on this experience and the proven quality of the Clarks, I ordered a pair of Clarks Clarkdale Bud black boots figuring they too would be a quality product.I purchased the Clarks Clarkdale Bud a couple of weeks ago. The boots fit as expected and similar to the pair I purchased 3 years ago. The boots look nice too. No problems there. However, after only 3 days of use the rubber sole at the toe on BOTH boots began to delaminate at the same spot. It's actually unbelievable that this could happen so soon. There must be a defect in the glue and or laminating process used in these boots; I am completely dissatisfied with this purchase. Unfortunately the 'return window' closed two days ago. Not sure what to do but warn others; DO NOT PURCHASE.Love these, can dress them up for the office with slacks and khakis or down with jeans for casual wear. Recommend a full size down from your sneaker size. I'm a 13 in running shoes but 12 for Clarks boots is perfect.I'd been looking for a pair of these in black for months, as I already have a pair of the tan one's and they are soooo comfortable. I'd not given a thought to the possibility of getting them from amazon, but I know where to look next time. These seem decent quality, the leather's firm without being uncomfortably stiff. They appear to be re-soleable. My only down side is that the laces don't stay fastened too well if you just use a single bow. I find this with some other Clarks shoes too, but it's not a big deal to replace them with softer laces if it becomes a problem. If you can, think of the Landrover jeep - trendy and luxurious and riddled with soft but hard wearing parts designed to hug you til you die - then you have the idea about these boots.Soft, durable and stylish as hell. Loved. I am a 12 and i have tried at least 7 pairs of chukka boots - and none come near these. None. Just buy them.Boots were very good and just what I wanted but they were too narrow for my wide foot so had to send them backShame because they were smartI use European size 44 and US 10. This is UK 9 and fits perfect.Very comfortable. Colour is more red than brown, but it is very nice and I like it.
