This shoe is strong and well made. I've had my first pair for two years and the only part that has worn out is the laces. The leather is heavy. The sol is wide and supportive. It is a nice compromise between casual and a little dressy. If you're looking for a truly dressy shoe, this isn't it. Part of what makes the shoe so supportive is the fact that it is unusually large and heavy for a casual shoe. The term clod hopper comes to mind when I'm putting them on. Also, all that support comes at the cost of breathability. My feet always "run hot" in these shoes. Like any piece of footwear, plan to have to send them back if sizing is off. I really like these shoes as a functional compromise that I can wear to work and at home. I needed something to stand in when my combat boots weren't appropriate. These give my feet excellent support. They cut down on my plantars fasciitis as well. I'll be buying a second pair later this month.This pair of shoe was returned for 2 reasons: did not fit - too small, and it looks like a cheaply made in China sneaker.True to size and very comfortable. Enough of a tread to protect against slipping on ice. I plan on getting more. Well made, good quality. Don't even need to use my custom orthotics.
