This jacket is perfect for year round riding. You should have a couple layers underneath but you can comfortable in 30 degree weather. It's constructed well. My only issue is the collar. When zipped all the way up it bites into the front of my neck. That being said, for what you get at the retail price is a great deal. The elbow and shoulder armor is good. The back protector is best tossed and buy yourself one that'll do the job. All in all, a bargain.
