Product Description

Didriksons Waterproof Southwest Rain Hat Clearance

Designed to imitate a classic sou’wester hat, Didriksons’ toughest rain hat is an upgrade on the traditional fisherman's oilskin hat, with STORMsystem™ technology for unbeatable wet weather protection. Made in soft, stretchy Galon® fabric, it’s 100% waterproof and windproof thanks to welded seams, as well as soft and quick drying, making it perfect for rainy British days.

Engineered for durability, its flexible, lightweight design with an internal cap makes it fit securely around the back of the head and ears for complete weather protection. An adjustable strap means the sou’wester can be fastened under the chin, while a soft, thin tricot lining makes the hat comfortable to wear - even in the most prolonged downpours.

Does a hood give you a headache, or do you find them a pain in the neck? Do you feel constricted and struggle to turn your head? Then a sou'wester is the answer, giving full protection to your neck without tethering your head in a confining hood.

It’s all part of a design that has been perfected across the centuries. In Britain, a prevailing sou'wester wind brings rain to the surrounding seas, and, as a result, a fishing net would always be brought up in the lee of the wind so that a fisherman facing the net would have his back to the wind. Without a hat, the rain would be driven down the fisherman's neck. And so the sou'wester hat came to get its name and its main feature - the extended neck guard.
